The date for this year's premium WWE Extreme Rules live event has been revealed and the show will be later this year than usual. The show, themed around the matches of the same name, is scheduled for October 8, 2022 and will air live from the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia, PA.
DATE: October 8, 2022
VENUE: Wells Fargo Arena, Philadelphia
This is the first premium live event in the city since Elimination Chamber in March 2020, the last pay-per-view before the pandemic lockdown. The venue will also be home to the same event in 2019. Tickets for the show go on sale July 15 at 10 a.m. ET. The show has had a regular date in the months of April and May since its inception in 2009, when the company was still feeling the effects of WrestleMania. In recent years, however, Extreme Rules has moved forward a year. In 2018, the premium live event was a regular July event, and in 2021 it became a September event. The month of October is closest to the end of the year. Last year's edition was led by Roman Reigns, who put his Universal Championship on the line against "The Demon" Finn Balor.
